Wrong Indications and ADHD Entrepreneurs: 7 Crucial Steps to Avoid Failure

Wrong indications and ADHD Entrepreneurs work  like getting directions from a GPS that thinks it’s a stand-up comedian. Imagine you’re an ADHD entrepreneur navigating the winding roads of business, and suddenly your GPS tells you to turn left at the next cloud. Hilarious? Maybe. Helpful? Not so much. Elite ADHD entrepreneurs often face an unseen barrier known as “Wrong Indications.” Wrong Indications and ADHD Entrepreneurs: Lets say a teacher wrongly labels an ADHD child as lazy or stupid, it can have damaging effects on the child’s self-esteem, academic performance, and social interactions. This mislabeling can lead to a decline in self-confidence, diminished academic effort, social challenges like isolation or bullying, and potentially long-term impacts on career and life choices. Additionally, it can contribute to mental health issues such as anxiety or depression, creating a heavy emotional burden for the child. In essence, such a misjudgment can significantly derail a child’s developmental and educational journey. The  Wrong indication is that mischievous signal or cue that leads you down the rabbit hole of confusion, only without the tea party at the end. It’s the entrepreneurial equivalent of putting salt in your coffee instead of sugar. It startling, bewildering, but with the right guidance (and maybe a laugh), entirely fixable! Now, who’s up for a detour into success? It’s like trying to navigate a maze with a map from another dimension. For ADHD entrepreneurs, understanding these tricky signals is like cracking a code. Wrong Indications and ADHD Entrepreneurs truly is a match made in hell Ready to become a code-breaker? Understanding Wrong Indications and ADHD Entrepreneurs: The Tango One usually gets a wrong indication from someone they love or trust who tells them A when it is really B.  For example.  I was told that my difficulties in life were due to being lazy, disorganized, and a slob and that I was just a bad child.  This came from my 2nd-grade teacher!  Now don’t get me wrong, everything is forgiven, it was just a misguided attempt to motivate me; ADHD was not as well known back in the late 60s. Wrong indications are like dance partners leading you astray. They’re signals causing incorrect assumptions or misguided strategies. Imagine taking dance lessons from a robot; precise but soulless. For ADHD entrepreneurs, these signals can be barriers to success, but we’ve got the moves to lead you right. The Impact of Wrong Indications and ADHD Entrepreneurs The relationship between Wrong Indications and ADHD Entrepreneurs is like a comedy duo. Misguided strategies and loss of confidence are like wearing clown shoes to a ballet – memorable but awkward. Recognizing these wrong indications can turn challenges into standing ovations.  In my case, I had been living my life through that wrong indication until I recognized the fullness of it, and that the right indication was that my brain just worked differently. ADHD and Entrepreneurial Success: 5 Succinct Steps to Tame Your Superpower

Red Alert:  The Universe Doesn’t Care if You Have ADHD… …And Neither do your Clients!  ADHD and Entrepreneurial Success are not mutually exclusive So, you have ADHD, and entrepreneurial success is eluding you.   Guess what?  The universe could care less, so let’s gather ’round and have a chat about the hyperactive (or inattentive, or combined) elephant in the room. You know, the one that’s full of bright ideas, bounces off the walls, and can’t stay focused on one thing for more than five minutes? Yup, that’s us. We’re like high-octane hummingbirds, flitting from one idea to the next, leaving a trail of half-finished projects in our wake. And while it’s true that we’ve got the creativity of Picasso and the energy of a Duracell bunny, there’s also a harsh reality to confront: The universe doesn’t care. There’s no sympathy card for ADHD in the big wide world of business. Your clients want results, not an entertaining circus act. And no, they won’t wait while you chase after that latest shiny idea. The keyword here, my friends, is ‘ADHD and entrepreneurial success’. Not ‘ADHD and excuse for missed deadlines’. So how do we manage our ADHD superpowers to ensure success in the entrepreneurial realm? 1. Channel your Energy: Just as a superhero learns to control their powers for good, you too must learn to channel your ADHD energy. Harness it. Tame it. Make it work for you, not against you. Your ADHD is not a flaw; it’s a feature. It’s the turbo-boost in your entrepreneurial engine. Use it to sprint towards your goals and then rest, recuperate, and recharge. 2. Master Time Management: Okay, ADHD entrepreneurs, we get it. Time management isn’t exactly our strong suit. We view time like a toddler views candy – never enough of it, and always wanting more. Try using the Pomodoro Technique, working with full concentration for 25 minutes, then taking a 5-minute break. Repeat this cycle until you’ve nailed that project or task. No distractions. No excuses. 3. Embrace Technology: In the age of AI and automation, you can have a personal assistant in your pocket. Use productivity apps like Trello, Asana, or Evernote. Set reminders, make to-do lists, schedule appointments. Let technology do the grunt work, freeing you to do what you do best – create, innovate, and revolutionize. 4. Learn the Art of Delegation: Entrepreneurs, with or without ADHD, listen up! Delegation is not a choice; it’s a necessity. Being an entrepreneur doesn’t mean doing everything yourself. It means building a team that can do the work even when you’re off chasing squirrels. Delegate tasks that aren’t in your wheelhouse and focus on what you do best. Sound challenging?  Well, guess what?  You can hire a virtual assistant Dr Get in Focus has taken care of that for you with Get in Focus VA. This is a Virtual Assistant program specifically designed to help entrepreneurs get in focus and skyrocket their productivity.  VAs can help you achieve ADHD and Entrepreneurial Success 5. Prioritize Regular Exercise: Exercise isn’t just for the body; it’s also for the mind. Regular physical activity can help manage ADHD symptoms and improve focus. Turn your gym session into a business strategy meeting with your favorite person – you. If you want ADHD and Entrepreneurial Success, regular exercise is a must!  No matter how much that little voice in your head tells you that you are too busy today. Remember, ADHD and entrepreneurial success are not mutually exclusive. They can co-exist, complement each other even. Being an ADHD entrepreneur is like being a superhero. You’ve got powers others can only dream of – creativity, hyper-focus, energy, and resilience. It’s about knowing how to use these powers, about honing them, controlling them, and using them for good – your good, your business’s good. So, fellow ADHD entrepreneurs, it’s time to put on your capes. The world of business is our Metropolis, and we are its Supermen and Superwomen. We have the power to change the world, one hyperactive idea at a time. ADHD and entrepreneurial success? That’s our story, and we’re sticking to it.

Unraveling ADHD Entrepreneur Lessons from Anna Delvey’s Downfall: 5 Crucial Mistakes to Avoid

Anna Delvey’s Misadventures: A Cautionary Tale with a Twist for ADHD Entrepreneurs The lessons from Anna Delvey are quite intriguing. They did a show about her on Netflix called Inventing Anna that I just binged… I mean the whole enchilada in one shot!  The only words I heard other than the TV were from my wife… several times!  “Jeff! Turn that off and come to bed! For those of you who haven’t had the pleasure, let’s meet Anna Delvey, the Russian-born “would-be Rockefeller” who hoodwinked New York’s elite by posing as a wealthy German heiress. Her entrepreneurial venture? A grand larceny operation that landed her a starring role in a courtroom drama. Now that we’ve set the stage let’s see what lessons from Anna Delvey our ADHD entrepreneurs can learn. 1. Bold is Gold, but Don’t Oversell: Anna was bold, audacious, and had a flair for the dramatic that would put Broadway stars to shame. But in her quest for the high life, she forgot a small thing – being real. So, ADHD entrepreneurs, remember to be bold but authentic. No need to pretend you’re a long-lost cousin of Bill Gates unless you fancy a prison cell for an office. 2. Organization – It’s Not Just for Librarians: Anna’s Downfall? A game of deceit too complex even for her to handle. As an ADHD entrepreneur, you might relate to this juggling act. So, embrace organization. There’s an app for that, or twenty. Just don’t lose track of your passwords! 3. Impulse Buys: From Candy Bars to Fake Heiress Schemes: Impulsivity can be a blessing and a curse. One moment you’re buying a domain for your next venture; the next you’re ordering a golden bathtub for your penthouse. Remember to pause, breathe, and maybe consult your bank account before making that next big move.  Rest and relaxation are important to recover your game.  This is discussed in the Get in Focus Challenge. 4. Read the Fine Print; It’s Not Just Decoration: Anna seemed to think laws were more like ‘suggestions.’ News flash: they’re not. So, ADHD entrepreneurs, remember the legal jargon is not there just to give lawyers something to do. Pay attention, or your next venture might be a prison bakery. 5. People > Pawns: Anna treated people like chess pieces in her game of life. But guess what? People generally don’t like being pawns, especially when the game ends in court. So, treat your relationships like gold – not the kind you bury in a treasure chest, but the kind you invest in and cherish.  One of the most important lessons from Anna Delvey is that everything has to be a win-win for everyone.  Anna’s actions caused wins for Anna and losses for the others. One of the biggest lessons from Anna Delvey I got is that life is not a zero-sum game situation! Let’s sum up the lessons from Anna Delvey’s story be a reminder that while bold moves and audacious plans have their place in the entrepreneurial world, authenticity, organization, controlled impulsivity, understanding the rules, and valuing relationships are the real keys to success. And they’re less likely to earn you a Netflix special for all the wrong reasons. Dr. Get in Focus is here to help! 5 Productivity Hacks Productivity Pirates Play to Pillage Peak Performance!

Navigate the High Seas of Remote Work with these Pirate-Approved Productivity Hacks! Ahoy, mateys! If ye be like me, ye relish the wild seas of remote work – the boundless horizon of the bedroom office, the thrilling unknown of whether your next video call will feature a surprise cameo by your pet parrot (or kids). But let’s be honest; there be more distractions in these waters than there be in Davy Jones’ Locker. Here be five productivity hacks us Productivity Pirates use to keep the treasure of top-notch productivity from slipping through our fingers! And these Productivity Hacks work great for ADHD and non-ADHD pirates, Arrgh! 1. Deck out your Captain’s Quarters with Productivity Hacks: As a Productivity Pirate, sitting still be as challenging as spotting a mermaid at a desert oasis. That’s why a cozy captain’s chair and a vast desk to plot your course are as crucial as a sturdy ship in a storm. This productivity hack will keep you from jumping ship mid-task! Remember, a comfortable workspace means fewer chances of ye abandoning your post. Consider investing in a plush chair that swivels and rocks, providing a bit of movement for those restless legs. A desk with ample space for your navigational charts, or in modern terms, multiple monitors, can also help keep your course clear and your focus sharp. 2. Secure a Speedy Signal: What’s a pirate without his trusty parrot to send messages? In the digital age, that parrot’s a strong internet connection. If ye be constantly launching new ventures or tirelessly tinkering with your projects, ye need a signal swift enough to match your pace. Anything less and ye might find yourself marooned on the island of frustration! Don’t skimp on your broadband, me hearties – a slow connection be the quickest way to a productivity shipwreck. Make sure your internet speed can handle your ambitious undertakings, or you may find your productivity walking the plank. 3. Claim your Cove – A Productivity Hack for Focus: An effective Productivity Pirate needs a hideout free from the lure of looting (or distractions, in landlubber speak). This productivity hack can help you find a spot where you can focus on your treasures! This could be a home office decked out with all your favorite motivational posters, a local tavern (coffee shop) buzzing with just the right level of background noise, or a quiet corner of the library where the smell of old books inspires grand adventures. 4. Stick to Ship’s Bell Schedule – A Time Management Productivity Hack: To avoid sailing yourself to the edge of burnout, establish a ship’s bell schedule and adhere to it like it’s the pirate code. This productivity hack sets specific hours for plundering (work) and hours for shore leave (rest). Even the most dedicated pirate needs time on dry land to rest and regale with family and friends. And remember, all work and no play makes a dull pirate! 5. Take Time to Trim your Sails – A Productivity Hack for Energy: Regularly take a moment to stretch your sea legs or draw a deep breath of salty sea air. This productivity hack can recharge your energy and clear the fog from your spyglass, helping you see your tasks with renewed clarity. Think of these breaks as little islands of rest in your sea of productivity – necessary pit stops on your voyage to success. 6. Don’t Forget Your First Mate: Productivity Pirates often find themselves at the helm alone, charting their course without a crew. But remember, even the most capable captain benefits from a trusty first mate to help with the Productivity Hacks. This could be a business partner, a mentor, or even a virtual assistant who keeps your projects organized. Don’t hesitate to delegate tasks when possible, and remember that two heads are often better than one when navigating uncharted waters.  You can find your first mate at Get in Focus Virtual Assistants 7. Guard Your Grub: It’s easy for Productivity Pirates to get so lost in their work that they forget to eat. But just like a ship needs fuel to sail, your body needs nourishment to stay productive. Keep some easy-to-eat snacks in your workspace, like fruit, nuts, or energy bars. And don’t forget to hydrate! Ship’s rum might be the pirate’s drink of choice, but water will keep you energized and focused while executing on your Productivity Hacks. – Hey Dr. Jeff, why are there 7 hacks here when you only mention 5 in the title? – I have ADHD; I forgot about that! Unlock Success: 5 Joyous ADHD Productivity Techniques to Crush Paralysis

Paralysis:  The Scourge of ADHD Productivity Techniques, How do we deal with It? If you’re familiar with ADHD paralysis, you know it’s as welcome as a skunk at a lawn party, always showing up at the worst times. I recall a night during grad school when I had a paper due at midnight. I started my evening intending to take a harmless five-minute Facebook break. However, like magic, five minutes morphed into a six-hour social media marathon. When I finally managed to tear myself away, I had a whopping 15 minutes left to create a scholarly gem. It was this adrenaline-pumping experience that kickstarted my quest for ADHD productivity techniques. Here are the five game-changing strategies that I discovered: 1. Music: ADHD brains are like kids in a toy store; they crave stimulation, and they want it now! Music is one of the ADHD productivity techniques that satiate this craving. Energetic music is the key; it gets your brain dancing to its tune and drives focus. For me, punk rock was the ideal cerebral DJ. 2. Exercise: Looking for a surefire way to boot paralysis out? Exercise! This ADHD productivity technique is like a caffeine shot for your brain. It gets the blood pumping, invigorates your body, and clears the mind. When paralysis starts creeping in, I deploy this method – a brisk walk or a set of push-ups. 3. The Pomodoro System: My secret weapon against ADHD paralysis is the Pomodoro System. This ADHD productivity technique involves working for a fixed time, then taking a short break. It’s like a sprint-rest-repeat routine for your brain. Plus, the breaks are perfect for sneaking in a quick dance-off or a snack raid! 4. Forgiveness: ADHD brains are infamous wanderers. You will lose focus, but that doesn’t label you a lost cause. The trick is not to board the guilt-trip train. Instead, take a breather, grab your favorite beverage, and get back in the game. 5. Fun: Life’s too short to be bored! Adding a dash of fun to your tasks is another of the ADHD productivity techniques that keeps paralysis at bay. Whether it’s a game of “Beat the Clock” during chores or seeing how many puns you can slip into an email, a little fun goes a long way. Bonus: Kickstart your day with Dr. Jeff’s Focus Formula to enhance your focus and energy. While the supplement stimulates your cognitive functions, create a task list for the day. Blend this with the Pomodoro technique: work in focused time intervals with short breaks. During breaks, engage in quick physical activities to maintain high energy levels and alertness. Celebrate each successful Pomodoro round to encourage progress and ward off potential paralysis. Remember, always consult a healthcare professional before starting any new supplement regimen. This bonus technique is meant to supplement your strategies against ADHD paralysis and optimize the use of Dr. Jeff’s Focus Formula, but it isn’t intended to replace professional medical advice or treatment. So there you have it, five powerful and joyous ADHD productivity techniques to crush paralysis. After all, who said productivity couldn’t be a laugh riot?  Wanna learn how to stomp-out your ADHD Paralysis? 8 Positive Actions: Unleashing the Power of Monty Python and the Holy Focus

Monty Python and the Holy Focus: A Slightly Sarcastic Allegory for the ADHD Entrepreneur So, you thought “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” was just a hysterical, nonsensical romp through Arthurian legend, eh? Well, you’re not wrong. But stick with me here because I’m about to argue that this gem of absurdity is, in fact, an allegory for the trials and tribulations of the entrepreneurial journey—specifically, for entrepreneurs graced with the neurodiverse superpowers of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). It’s time to buckle up, strap on your coconuts, gallop down this unconventional rabbit hole and join me for Monty Python and the Holy Focus. 1. King Arthur and The Never-Ending ‘Holy’ Quest: AKA the ADHD Entrepreneur’s Journey King Arthur, bless his medieval heart, is on a mission to find the Holy Grail. Seems straightforward enough, right? Except for the fact that he has no clue where it is or how to get there, much like your average entrepreneur staring at a startup business plan. For entrepreneurs with ADHD, the journey can seem even more impossible. Arthur’s path is riddled with bizarre obstacles, constant distractions, and an alarming lack of direction. Starting to see why I am calling it Monty Python and the Holy Focus? 2. The Knights who say “Ni”: Distractions, Distractions, and More Distractions One minute you’re on a noble quest; the next you’re searching for a shrubbery to appease some overgrown, helmet-wearing toddlers who can’t handle a two-letter word. The Knights who say “Ni” are the epitome of distraction, their demands sending Arthur’s crew scrambling off the trail. Entrepreneurs with ADHD, welcome to your brain on an average Tuesday. Your focus may be strong, but the pull of new, seemingly urgent tasks—those shiny little shrubberies—can lead you off course. 3. Sir Lancelot’s Unhinged Enthusiasm: Yeah, We’ve All Been There Ah, Sir Lancelot. Nothing screams ADHD like charging into a wedding, misinterpreting a situation, and causing mass panic because you didn’t stop to assess. Impulsivity is a common trait among individuals with ADHD, making us prone to bouts of unchecked enthusiasm and action without consideration. On the plus side, who wouldn’t want to have a Lancelot on their side in a pinch? Provided, of course, they’ve read the room correctly. 4. The Black Knight: Tenacity or Utter Madness? When you’ve been dismembered limb from limb but continue to fight, you may be the Black Knight—or you may be an entrepreneur with ADHD. Sure, we could call it tenacity, resilience, grit, or, let’s face it, complete and utter madness. Either way, entrepreneurs with ADHD often demonstrate the same relentless drive to achieve their goals, even if it seems they’re just hopping around on one leg. It’s just a flesh wound, after all. 5. The Bridge of Death: Decision-Making Under Pressure, No Sweat… Right? Lastly, we arrive at the Bridge of Death, where Arthur and his knights must answer questions or perish. Much like the high-stakes game of running a business. For those with ADHD, rapid-fire decision-making can be as pleasant as a date with the bridge troll. However, thanks to our neurodiverse superpowers, we’re often able to pull a creative solution out of thin air. Or in Arthur’s case, a killer rabbit. So there you have it. “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” isn’t just a comedic masterpiece—it’s an unexpected, sarcastic representation of the ADHD entrepreneur’s journey… Indeed, Monty Python and the Holy Focus!  I mean, who knew we could relate our daily struggles to a ragtag group of knights gallivanting through a Pythonesque medieval England? 6. The French Taunters: Naysayers and Doubters Ever had a business idea that was met with disbelief, ridicule, or, worse yet, dismissive taunts? Welcome to dealing with the French Taunters. Their scornful ridicule, airborne livestock, and absurd insults echo the naysayers every ADHD entrepreneur encounters. Yet, just as Arthur and his knights press on in their quest, we too must press on in the face of such ‘constructive criticism.’ 7. The Killer Rabbit: Unanticipated Challenges We’ve all been there. You’ve prepared for everything you can think of, only to be confronted by a vicious, fanged creature cleverly disguised as a fluffy bunny. These ‘killer rabbits’ represent the unforeseen problems that can pounce when we least expect them. For an entrepreneur with ADHD, these can seem overwhelming, but with a ‘holy hand grenade’ of resourcefulness and flexibility, these challenges can be overcome. 8. Tim the Enchanter: Leveraging Unique Strengths In the middle of the chaos, Tim the Enchanter represents the magical, unexpected abilities of an ADHD brain. Just as Tim aids Arthur’s crew with his unanticipated talents, ADHD entrepreneurs can harness their unique strengths—like creativity, out-of-the-box thinking, and hyperfocus—to navigate their entrepreneurial journey. And yes, sometimes things might explode, but isn’t that half the fun? So, while the Knights of the Round Table may not have had ADHD diagnostic manuals, Monty Python managed to craft a metaphor for the neurodiverse entrepreneurial journey. Filled with distractions, impulsivity, resilience, and creative problem-solving, it’s a wild ride that many of us ADHD-afflicted entrepreneurs know all too well which is why I say, Monty Python and the Holy Focus. Next time you’re laughing along with the ridiculous antics of King Arthur and his Knights, spare a thought for the absurdity and beauty of the entrepreneurial journey, particularly for those of us with the unique quirks of ADHD. And remember, when in doubt, always ask yourself: what is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow? Of course, no discussion of Monty Python and the Holy Focus would be complete without a mention of Dr Jeff’s Focus Formula! Some very smart scientists came up with a formula for focus.  It Contains CBD/CBG, Taurine, B12, and caffeine.  Of course, I am not an MD, and before embarking on any supplement program, you may want to check with your MD or at least with your enchanter!
